Skype is now available for Nokia smartphones on Ovi Store

More than 200 million users can now install Skype on their smartphone, as Skype and Nokia announced today the launch of Skype for Symbian, the new Skype client for smartphones based on Nokia Symbian platform, used on most smartphones worldwide. With Skype for Symbian, the Nokia smartphone users around the globe can now use Skype while on the go via WiFi or mobile data (GPRS, EDGE, 3G). This application is already downloaded for free from Ovi Store, the Nokia shop for mobile multimedia.

With Skype for Symbian, users of Nokia smartphones can:

• Make free calls to other Skype users around the world
• Making calls and sending SMS at lower cost to phones abroad
• Exchange instant messages with a person or group
• Share photos, videos and files
• Receive calls on their existing online edition
• See if their Skype contacts are online and available to receive a call or instant message
• Easily import names and numbers from the directory of their phone

The Skype application for Symbian is currently compatible with those following Nokia models: Nokia E71, Nokia N96, Nokia N85, Nokia 5320, Nokia 6210 Navigator, Nokia 6220 classic, Nokia N78, Nokia N79, Nokia E63, Nokia E66, Nokia N82, Nokia E51, Nokia N95, Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia N81, Nokia N81 8GB, Nokia E90, Nokia E72, mobile touch screen Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, X6 Nokia, Nokia 5530.
